She works as a contributor for The Next, a 24/7 women's basketball publication, and has had many different roles with the organization, including as the beat reporter for her home WNBA team, the Seattle Storm. She has also been involved with their NCAA Women's Basketball coverage, most notably covering the Iowa Women's Basketball team in their historic NCAA Final Four run in 2023, in addition to contributing to The Next's coverage of NCAA Transfer Portal moves.

As a freelance journalist, Rowan has worked various teams and media outlets, including the Atlanta Dream and Circling Seattle Sports. She also worked as a Communications Intern for She's Got Time, an organization founded by Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Swin Cash.
